Overcoming Graduation Ep. 49 Lane Robinson: The Stress Slayer
When Lane was growing up, she had been told that women had five options to choose from when it came to their career. They could be a nurse, flight attendant, teacher, secretary, or wife. In her household, her parents didn’t believe in educating women but Lane decided not to accept the story that the world was presenting her and took a different route.
She went on to not only graduate college but also get her MBA. She worked in the corporate world for major companies for years before realizing that something wasn’t right. When her office ID badge started to feel like a 20 pound weight around her neck, she knew it was time to make a change.
She left corporate America and began consulting. Her successful consulting career came to a screeching halt when a traumatic car accident changed her life forever. Short term memory loss, chronic pain, and a doctor’s prediction that she may lose her ability to walk pushed Lane to crack the code on slaying stress in her life. Now she is working to share that message with the world.
In today’s interview Lane will discuss:
– The ABC’s of Stress
– Why most stress is “synthetic” and how to determine your unique stress profile
– The story of how a near-fatal car accident changed her life forever
– How Lane overcame her health problems by IGNORING EVERYTHING the doctors said
– How to know when it is time to leave the corporate world and strike out on your own
– Effects that anti-anxiety and anti-depression medicines can have on you mentally and physically, as well as alternate options to traditional medical treatments
– Her advice on how to crush a presentation no matter where you work
